Our Vision

The purpose and function of Calvary Surfside is to work toward the accomplishment of Ephesians 4: 12-13.

"to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ," Ephesians 4:12–13

Our Vision is accomplished in 4 Ways:

"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
John 4:23-24

We believe that worship should be spiritual, inspirational and from our hearts; therefore, we give worship a primary place in our services. Our worship consists of contemporary worship written by our own worship leaders, Maranatha Music, and others.

"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace,Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!" Isaiah 52:7

We believe it is essential to win the lost for Christ; therefore, we pray continually that God might use us as a soul winning church. We pray that we might hear the cry of newborn babes in our church often.

We are an evangelical church who believes in a balance of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

"And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."  2 Timothy 2:2

We believe it is the job of the church to feed the sheep. Healthy sheep beget more healthy sheep. We teach through the Bible line upon line, precept upon precept, in order that the church might grow up into maturity and affect the world around us.

"And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"  Romans 10:15

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen."  Matthew 28:19, 20

We believe the church should reach outside its borders to others around us, even to the ends of the world., and also that in training men and women in the Word of God that they may be able to go out into their community and into the mission field with the power of God's Word to change lives.
